Mithila region in north eastern state of Bihar is the birthplace of Madhubani art where every house is decorated with wall paintings made by village women.Starting from 1960's this style of painting has reached in collections of art lovers around the world.The subjects are derived from day to day life,like child birth,marriage,gods and goddesses, animals in forests,ritualistic etc. Mostly works are done on cowdung treated paper.Away from commercial influence,these paintings shows us our relation with nature.
