Saint of Shiridi is known as Sai Baba of Shiridi, the birth and origin of Lord Sai Baba is unknown as he was seen as a youth of sixteen sitting under a neem tree in Shirdi in a year between 1854-58 . The common perception of Sai Baba is of a Guru, Saint, Avatar, Fakir and a free soul among his devotees. The real real name of Sai Baba is unknown, the name 'Sai' was given to him upon his arrival at Shiridi (a town in Maharashtra state) He had no love for perishable things and his sole concern was self-realization. He taught a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion to God and guru. Sai Baba's teaching combined elements of Hinduism and Islam. He emphasized on Sraddha (faith) and Saburi (Patience). Now days Idols of Sai Baba can be found in Sanatana or Hindu temples as a large number of Hindu devotees are following teachings of Sadguru Sai Nath Maharaj.
