History of Indian Miniatures goes back to more than thousand years back when its works were executed on palm leaves in Hindu and Jain scriptures.Early miniatures were developed as temple art but later in the 16th century and after it developed as courtly art in protection of mugal and Hindu kings.The topics consists are from Hindu epics,scenes of court lovers,botanical subjects and actual events from day to day life. Kishangarh,kota,Boondi,Kangra,Basohli,Delhi are a few places where different styles of this art flourished.
