The traditional Batik work on Mandals has revealed some of the basic characteristic features of this style of painting popular in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Orissa. Use of geometric motifs along with an intelligent depiction of line formations and colour patterns have made the Batik painting a real treat for eyes. The use of square and circular motifs has made the painting very attractive.
