The Kalamkari painting of Lord Shiva and Parvati yields a very gentle effect of the God and his consort. Seated on His vehicle Nandi, the duo ooze out a sense of satisfaction. The painter has minutely decorated each and every aspect of the three characters. Even the hoofs of the Nandi are made very prominent by the artist. In fact, the balanced use of colour is a specialty of the Kalamkari paintings.
