The beautiful Patachitra painting of Lord Hanuman is given a refine and detail treatment. The great devotee of Lord Ramchandra, the key figure in Hindu epic Ramayana, is shown here carrying Lord Ram and his brother Lakshmana on his arm. A deep sense of devotion is manifest in the painting. Hanuman played a key role in rescuing Seeta, the wife of Lord Ram, who was abducted by Ravana. The ensuing battle between the demon forces and the vanar sena (forces of monkeys) led by Ram constitutes the theme of the epic.
