The beautiful Madhubani painting reflects the co-existence of birds and fish in Mithila, where this form of art is practised. The painting depicts a big bird along with a fish and then a chain of fishes surrounds the central figure. A number of natural colours and powders are nicely used in the painting. Madhubani style of paintings is central to Mithila in North Bihar and this is practised mainly by the women.
