The beautiful Madhubani painting exalts the symphony of a Mithila village where the coexistence of the people and the animals characterizes the motion of life. Tattoos of the fishes and the people are beautifully depicted in the painting. Mithila paintings, also called Madhubani, are a folk tradition kept alive by women in northern Bihar. They draw traditional designs and depict events from epic mythology using crushed wet rice and natural colors on 100% handmade paper.
