The beautiful Batik painting Lord Shiva dancing over Death is given a refine treatment with some beautiful designs. Lord Shiva is one of the Trinity Gods in Hinduism, the other two being Lord Brahma and Vishnu, and he is associated with destruction. But destruction is also needed for regeneration. The method of waxing and dewaxing also gives rise to a sparkling effect to the painting. The Lord is wearing a beautiful tiger skin whereas the upper portion is left naked, he is wearing some ornaments. His trident (trishul) is also nicely painted.
