The spectacular brass figure of the Goddess Durga is given a refine and dazzling treatment. The Goddess was born out of the combined energies of different gods in order to eliminate the demon Mahishasur, who had wrought havoc on earth and heaven. The figure is lavishly ornate with some beautiful designs and ornaments as the Goddess Durga is seated on a roaring lion, Her vehicle. One her eight hands, the goddess is carrying different kinds of weapons she received from different gods. A symbol of prowess and strength, the goddess is worshipped all over the country by the Hindus.
