The spectacular figure of Lord Shiva is nicely carved out with the precision of a surgeon. The seated figure of the Lord is minutely treated. Lord Shiva here is seated in a meditative posture. One his one hand is the drum, one the other his trident. One of the Trinity Gods in Hinduism, Lord Shiva is responsible for destruction. But immediately after destruction follows the process of regeneration. A coil of serpents is there on his head. Even the halo surrounding his head is nicely treated.
