The spectacular marble painting of Lord Bodhisattva is given a refine and detail touch with a deep sense of finesse and satisfaction. Bodhisattva in this beautiful painting is shown in a meditation posture.
Boddhisattva means 'enlightened (bodhi) existence (sattva)' or "enlightenment-being". It is the name given to anyone who, motivated by great compassion, has generated bodhichitta, which is a spontaneous wish to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all living beings.
Boddhisattva means future Buddha. The term Bodhisatta (Pali language) was used by the Lord himself to refer to himself both in his previous lives and as a young man in his current life, prior to his enlightenment, in the period during which he was working towards his own liberation. |
