The spectacular Lapis Lazuli figure of the Lord Boddhisattva is nicely carved out with a deep sense of finesse and refinement. In Buddhism, Boddhisatva is one who seeks awakening (bodhi) hence, an individual on the path to becoming a Buddha. Bodhisattava is not the complete Buddha but on his way for the Enlightenment. Bodhisattvas are common figures in Buddhist literature and art. A marked characteristic in popular literature is that of the concealed greatness of the Bodhisattvas. In numerous stories, ordinary individuals are revealed to be great Bodhisattvas who are normal humans and who save others.
