The spectacular brass figure cast in the traditional dhokra style is given a refine and detail touch with a greater degree of finesse. In this beautiful figure, a tribal lady is shown playing the musical instrument. A deep sense of simplicity and accomplishment is manifest here.

Dhokra is an ancient method of casting brass figure, and it is practised by the tribal people in areas of North India. The lost wax method is used here. In this technique, first a model is sculpted of clay and dried in the sun. Then it is covered with beeswax and more clay and a mold is formed. The piece is cast, cleaned and again dried in the sun. Finally, it is heated in the ground for five days and polished.
