The awe-inspiring figure of Mahakali trampling on the body of Lord Shiva is a creation of competent sculptor. When even Gods were on the verge of being overcome by the demons, She manifests in this "Rudra" (angry) form and that was the end of seemingly unconquerable demons. Her long, lolling tongue dripping blood, a garland of freshly severed human heads around her neck and snakes coiled around her arms and ankles in lieu of armlets and anklets - strike terror in the most evil of humans.
