The beautiful Batik painting of lord Hanuman reveals some of the basic characteristics of this style of Indian painting, popular in states like Orissa, Bengal and Tamil Nadu. When Laxman was injured by an arrow during the war against Ravana, Hanuman was instructed to bring Sanjivani, the herbal tree from the Himalayas. Unable to recognize the particular plant, the son of the Air (Pavan putra) carried the entire hill. The Batik painting depicts the Lord carrying the hill with one hand. The figure has been beautifully decorated with some lot of jewelries around the figure. The method of dewaxing has created a special effects in the painting. Every part of the Lord is being treated with equal importance.
