In this beautiful Buddha figure, recycled brass is used in a proper mixture giving a detail treatment to it. The apostle of Truth and Non-Violence is blessing his disciples. Lord Buddha is considered one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu and he is revered widely across the world. Lord Buddha propagated the gospel of Truth and Non-violence in a vigorous manner and his teachings still have great relevance today. An excellent example of the ancient dhokra technique, the statuette is created through a laborious lost wax process associated with the tribal groups of northern India. A model is sculpted of clay and dried in the sun; it is then covered with beeswax and more clay, forming a mold. The piece is cast, cleaned and again dried in the sun. Finally, it is heated in the ground for five days and polished.

Lord Buddha is seated in the padmasana pose (lotus pose). Padmasana is a term derived from Sanskrit word padma: lotus, and sana: seat. In this position the legs are crossed, closely locked with the soles of both feet visible. The lotus seat upon which Lord Buddha sits symbolizes His divine origin. This wood sculpture is hand carved by the artists of Nepal.
