Description
The small brass figure of Lord Krishna as the cowherd Krishna is given a nice and delicate touch with a deep sense of finesse. Lord Krishna spent his childhood in Vrindavan on the bank of Yamuna as a cowherd and there are lot of anecdotes about Lord Krishna's childhood when he killed so many demons sent by uncle Kanch to kill him. He protected the people of Vrindavan from impending catastrophe. Lord Krishna mesmerized his fellow cowherds and gopis with his fine tunes of the heavenly flute. They went crazy in divine love for Lord Krishna’s company.
Weight: 130 gm.

The amazing painting shows the Lord Krishna looking after the cows along with his cowherd friends. The ambience is being created in a most beautiful manner in silk in the medium of water colour. The trees, the cows, the ambience all are given a refine and beautiful treatment. Patachitra paintings are popular in Orissa and they had their origin in the temples.

The beautiful stone figure of the cowherd Krishna is nicely carved out with deep sense of generosity. The Lord is here playing flute as the cow looks on. Lord Krishna in Gokul was serving as a cowherd and some most remarkable events are associated with him as cowherd right from the saga of love with the gopis, especially Radha and killing of many demons. A deep sense of gracefulness and accomplishment is manifest here.

Description
The beautiful brass figure of child Krishna is nicely decorated with a high degree of finesse and refinement. A large number of stories surround the life and some key events of child Krishna when he was in Gokul and his maternal uncle Kanch tried to kill him but without success. Krishna is often described and portrayed as an infant or young boy playing a flute as in the Bhagavata Purana, or as a youthful prince giving direction and guidance as in the Bhagavad Gita. The stories of Krishna appear across a broad spectrum of Hindu philosophical and theological traditions. They portray him in various perspectives: a God-child, a prankster, a model lover, a divine hero and the supreme being. The principal scriptures discussing Krishna's story are the Mahabharata, the Harivamsa, the Bhagavata Purana, and the Vishnu Purana. The stories of Krishna's childhood and youth tell how he became a cow herder, his mischievous pranks as Makhan Chor (butter thief), his foiling of attempts to take his life, and his role as a protector of the people of Vrindavana.
Krishna killed the demoness Putana, disguised as a wet nurse, sent by Kansa for Krishna's life. He tamed the serpent Kāliyā, who previously poisoned the waters of Yamuna river, thus leading to the death of the cowherds. In Hindu art, Krishna is often depicted dancing on the multi-hooded Kāliyā.
Krishna lifted the Govardhana hill and taught Indra, the king of the devas and rain, a lesson to protect native people of Brindavana from persecution by Indra and prevent the devastation of the pasture land of Govardhan. Indra had too much pride and was angry when Krishna advised the people of Brindavana to take care of their animals and their environment that provide them with all their necessities, instead of worshipping Indra annually by spending their resources.

The heavily ornate figure of child Krishna depicts an artistic excellence of brass sculpture. Krishna was fond of sweets and he is shown crawling with laddoo in one hand. Whereas the upper part of the body is heavily covered with precious ornaments and headgear, the lower portion is left unadorned. Prominent eyes, sharp nose, clear eye-brows, smoothness of the legs, the ornaments --- all have been given an artistic treatment.
