The purpose of this study is to undertake an analysis of the epistemological issues inherent in the Advaita Vedanta theory of the Knowing and the known to explicate their two tiered theory of knowledge from a phenomenalistic perspective and at the same time to make sense of the overarching unity that prevails over the duality and division. The interpretation and analysis is based on Dharmaraja's Vedanta Paribhasa and its commentary Paribhasa Prakasika. The theory of perception of the text of VP is Gupta's primary focus. The present work also includes a translation of the perception chapter of the text of VP and a free reconstruction of the gloss provided on it by PP. Additionally the book contains extensive critical notes clarifying some of the complex ideas contained in VP and PP.

Professor Matilal here presents the Nyaya view and critically examines it against the opposing Buddhist version of phenomenalism and idealism. The dispute between the Buddhist and Nyaya schools of thought lasted a little over twelve centuries; and although the author's approach is largely historical, it is informed by the belief that the issues raised by this dispute have a significant contribution to make to modern philosophical concerns. His reconstruction of Nyaya arguments meets not only traditional Buddhist objections but also those of modern

The dispute that lasted a little over twelve centuries between the Nyaya and the Buddhist over the nature of perception, the critique and criteria of knowledge, and the status of the external world, is undoubtedly an important chapter in the history of global philosophy. It is author's firm conviction that modern philosophical discussion stands to be enriched, and our insight deepened, by a proper analysis and critical study by philosophers today. The need for painstaking research in this field can hardly be over-emphasised.

The eternal love between Krishna and Radha is a most inspiring theme for the folk artists of Mithila to paint with earnest quest. The painting is quite impressive as the artists have used sharp lines and various colous. Using sharp lines has depicted even the drapery of the figures.

Effective corporate initiatives and processes are the bedrock of successful organizations, developing practice provides managers with essential frameworks to identify, formulate and implement the best policies and practice in the management and development of people. All employers need to find ways to improve the performance of their people. Yet many of today's personnel departments are abolishing rigid systems of performance management in favor of strategic frameworks that empower individual managers to communicate with, motivate and develop their staff. One of Britain's best-known business writers and the IPD's Policy Adviser for Employee Resourcing draw on detailed data from over 550 organizations - including the latest innovations adopted by leading-edge companies ranging from BP Exploration to the Corporation of London and from AA Insurance to Zeneca, to illuminate how approaches to appraisal have evolved and to identify current best practice in performance management. They explore its history, philosophy and separate elements, the criticisms it has attracted and its impact (if any) on quantifiable business results.
