In this spectacular dhokra sculpture, the Lord Krishna is sculpted out with the precision of a surgeon and with impeccable designs. A sublime finesse of tribal touch makes the figure more attractive. The Lord is holding his veena. A paradigm of the ancient dhokra technique, the figure is crafted through a laborious lost wax process. Such a process is closely associated with the lives of the tribal groups of northern India. For designing a figure a model is sculpted of clay and dried in the sun. The dried figure is then covered with beeswax and more clay, forming a mold. The piece is cast, cleaned and again dried in the sun. Finally, it is heated in the ground for five days and polished.

The seated brass figure of Panchmukhi Hanuman is given a detail and minute treatment. The Lord, who is the staunch devotee of Ramchandra, is holding different weapons in eight hands. The Lord has ten hands in the figure. He is wearing lot of jewelries in the figure as it is being given an ornate touch. Lord Hanuman is the key figure of the great Indian epic Ramayana and a great devotee of Lord Ramchandra, the protagonist of Ramayana and one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. He is the symbol of power, energy, strength and knowledge. And, an epitome of true devotion and brahmcharya (bachelorhood). Panchamukhi Hanuman is a form of Hanuman which has five different faces. Panchmukhi Hanuman is said to be originated at the time of war between Ravana and Lord Rama. During the war, Ravana took help of Ahiravana, the King of Patala (hell). Ahiravana appeared in the form of Vibhishana. Then, he took Rama and Lakshmana to patala loka. Lord Hanuman, in order to protect them, formed a fortress with his tail and entered Patalaka Loka. There he found that he had to extinguish five lamps burning in five different directions at the same time to kill Ahiravana. Then, he took the form of Panchmukhi Hanuman with Hanuman, Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda and Varaha faces and killed Ahiravana by extinguishing the five lamps simultaneously.
