The beautiful image of the mother goddess Vaishno Devi is being nicely carved out of single block of marble with some dazzling features. 22 karat gold paints in on the forehead of the goddess sparkle like jewels. Her eye brows, sparkling eyes, eight hands with weapons on each of the hand, here drapery — all have been nicely treated by the sculptor in a royal manner. The smiling face of the goddess has added beauty to the figure.

The beautiful stone figure of Mother Goddess Sherawali is given a refine and detail treatment with some nice carvings on it. Seated on a roaring tiger, the goddess is holding six different weapons on her six hands. With her two hands, she is blessing her devotees. One of the most benevolent mother goddesses in Hinduism, she can be easily propitiated. A deep sense of gracefulness and feminine nature is manifest on her face.

Here Vaishravana, the Buddhist version of Kubera, is given a refine treatment. Vaishravana is worshipped widely by the Buddhists. He is the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings and an important figure in Buddhism. The term Vaiśravaṇa means "hear distinctly", (passive) "become famous". The name Vaiśravaṇa is derived from the Sankrit viśravaṇa which means "son of Vishrava", a usual name for the Hindu god Kubera. Although brought into East Asia as a Buddhist deity, Vaiśravaṇa has become a character in folk religion and has acquired an identity that is partially independent of the Buddhist tradition. He is often portrayed with a yellow face with an umbrella or parasol (chatra) as a symbol of his sovereignty.

Description

Vajradhara is the primordial Buddha, (the dharmakaya Buddha). Vajradhara expresses the quintessence of Buddhahood itself. It represents the essence of the historical Buddha's realization of enlightenment.

 

The Vajradhara Buddha is the source of all the manifestations of enlightenment. Vajradhara is central to the Kagyu lineage because Tilopa received the vajrayana teachings directly from vajradhara, the dharmakaya buddha. Thus, the Kagyu lineage originated from the very nature of Buddhahood. The beautiful figure is shown in meditative posture on a lotus.
