The artist has chiseled Patañjali, the compiler of the Yoga Sutra, a major work containing aphorisms on the practical and philosophical wisdom regarding practice of Raja Yoga, out of metal brass with masterly elegance. Patañjali is the reputed author of the Yoga Sutra, as well as commentary on Panini's Sanskrit grammar (Astyadhyayi). There are also many ayurvedic texts attributed to him. Desirous of teaching yoga to the world, he is said to have fallen (pat) from heaven into the open palms (anjali) of a woman, hence the name Patanjali. The Yoga Sutra is a treatise on Raja Yoga, built on the Samkhya School and the Hindu scripture of the Bhagavad Gita. Yoga is also found in the Puranas, Vedas and Upanishads. Still, this work is certainly a major work among the great Hindu scriptures and certainly is the basis of Raja Yoga. Patañjali's Yoga is one of the six schools of Hindu Philosophy. They give us the earliest reference to the popular term Ashtanga Yoga that translates literally as the eight limbs of yoga. They are yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi.

These spectacular brass statues depict Lord Ramchandra and His court in a most accomplished manner as the great devotee Hanuman is bowing in front of His Lord. A deep sense of finesse is manifest. Crafted out of brass in a most prolific manner, these figures reveal deep sense of devotion and piety. Lord Ramchandra was the king of Ayodha, who was earlier exiled by his father at the behest of his wife Kaikeyi. While in exile, His wife Sita was abducted by Ravana, the great demon king. Hanuman, the great devotee of Lord Ramchandra assisted Ramchandra to raise a battle against Ravana and finally Seeta was rescued from the clutches of the king Ravana. Lord Shiva has been depicted in a most graceful manner. It’s a depiction of the husband as a part of the wife, the better half. The ultimate reality is conceived as the divine unity of Shakti (Divine Feminine) and the Shiva (Divine Masculinity). They are one, they are all, they are god. The male side is depicted with his hair matted and piled in the manner of an ascetic. Lord Shiva wears a leopard skin around His waist and a garland of freshly severed heads around His neck. Serpents coil around His arm, neck, and ankle.
The female side wears a sari and other feminine attire. There are frequently tracings of henna on Her hands and feet. Parvati's mount, a tiger is seen behind her, and Nandi the bull, Shiva's vehicle, behind Him.

Kartikeya, the second son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati or Shakti, is an embodiment of perfection, a brave leader of god's forces, and a war god, who was created to destroy the demons, representing the negative tendencies in human beings. Kartikeya has six heads that correspond to the five senses and the mind. The six heads also stand for his virtues enables him to see in all the directions - an important attribute that ensures that he counters all kinds of blows that can hit him. He has six heads. It shows that if humans wish to lead themselves efficiently through the battle of life, they must always be alert lest they are shown the wrong path by crafty people with the six demonic vices: kaama (sex), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), moha (passion), mada (ego) and matsarya (jealousy).

Kartikeya carries on one hand a spear and his other hand is always blessing devotees. The fine figure of Goddess Tara is nicely carved out of brass. One of the most popular deities in Buddhism, she is the female Buddha. According to Buddhist belief, she came into existence from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, which fell to the ground and formed a lake. Out of its waters rose up a lotus, which, on opening, revealed the goddess. Like Avalokiteshvara, Tara is a compassionate, succouring deity who helps men “cross to the other shore.” She is the protector of navigation and earthly travel, as well as of spiritual travel along the path to enlightenment. The highly ornate body of the goddess reflects a deep feminine beauty and her face is treated exceptionally fine.
