DESCRIPTION:
Lalita Sahasranama (IAST: lalitāsahasranāma) is a text from Brahmanda Purana. It is a sacred text to the Hindu worshippers of the Goddess Lalita Devi, i.e. the Divine Mother or Goddess Durga, in the form, Shakti. Lalitha is the Goddess of bliss, an epithet for Shiva's wife Goddess Parvati. Etymologically, "Lalitha" means "She Who Plays". In the root form (vyutpatti), the word "Lalitha" means "spontaneous" from which the meaning "easy" is derived and implicitly extends to "play". Lalita Sahasranamam contains the thousand names of the Hindu mother goddess Lalita.[1] The names are organized in a hymns (stotras). It is the only sahasranama that does not repeat a
single name. Further, in order to maintain the meter, sahasranamass use the artifice of adding words like tu, api, ca, and hi, which are conjunctions that do not necessarily add to the meaning of the name except in cases of interpretation. The Lalita sahasranama does not use any such auxiliary conjunctions and is unique in being an
enumeration of holy names that meets the metrical, poetical and mystic requirements of a sahasranama by their order

DESCRIPTION:
The Mayamata is a Vastusastra, i.e. a treatise on dwelling, and as such it deals with all the facets of gods' and men's dwellings, from the choice of the site to the iconography of the temple walls. It contains numerous and precise descriptions of villages and towns as well as of the temples, houses, mansions and palaces. It gives indications for the selection of a proper orientation, right dimensions, and of appropriate materials. It intends to be a manual for the architect and a guidebook for the layman. Well-thought-of by traditional architects (sthapati-s) of South India, the treatise is of great interest at a time when technical traditions, in all fields, are being scrutinized for their possible modern application. The present bilingual edition prepared by Dr. Bruno Dagens, contains critically edited Sanskrit text which is an improvement over the earlier edition by the same scholar and published as No.40 of Publications de I'Institut Francaisd' Indologie, Pondicherry. The English translation, also published earlier, has now been revised with copious notes. The usefulness of the edition has been further enhanced by adding an analytical table of contents and a comprehensive glossary. In the series of Kalamulasastra early texts on music, namely, Matralaksanam, Dattilam and Brhaddest, have been published. The medieval texts on music, specially, the Sribastamuktavali (No.3 in the series) and the Nartananirnaya (No.17 in the series), bring us up to the 15th and 16th century. In the case of architecture, despite the IGNCA's endeavour to publish portions of the Brhatsamhita, the Agnipurana and the Visnudharmottara-Purana, first this has not been possible. Instead, our scholars were able to complete work first on a late but important text, namely, Silparatnakosa. We hope that the sections on architecture in the Brhatsamhita, the Agnipurana and the Visnudharmottara-purana which predate the medieval texts, will be published soon, alongwith revised and re-edited texts of Manasollasa and Aparajitaprccha. The Mayamatam is the fourteenth and fifteenth volumes in the Kalamulasastra series of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).

DESCRIPTION:
The Journey with Death deals with the problem of death as well as the problem of life. Avoiding the traditional approach to death with consists of a description of the after-death condition, the author has tried to find a solution for the problems of survival and reincarnation, of communication with the dead and of the interval between two lives. He has also dealt with the problem of separation which death poses to ordinary men and women. The author would prefer to call the so-called dead as only the departed with whom one can establish links of communication, through a journey into realms of consciousness. Out of the depths of his own experience in watching the shadow of death fall on one who has loved and cherished, Rohit Mehta has sought answers to the perennial questions that have haunted the human heart and mind for untold ages: What is death? Why does it come? Whither does it take one? Is death the end of existence? Can we recognize each other? Mehta deals with these queries not merely from a philosophical basis of understanding the events and conditions peculiar to the after-death states, but he takes the reader step by step on a journey of discovery that satisfies the inner longing for assurance and inspires the heart in its quest for peace which is also the profound mystery of life itself.

Each night, miraculously, the Lord Himself would modify Kacciappa's manuscript with His own corrections. Hence, the work is considered to be the absolutely authoritative account of Lord Murugan's legends bearing the seal of approval of none other than the Lord Himself.

About Author:

Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj was a healer of the body in his Purvashram (before he entered the Holy Order of Sannyasa). He was a born healer, with an extraordinary inborn love to serve humanity; that is why he chose the medical profession as a career. That is why he edited and published a health Journal Ambrosia. That is why he
went over to Malaya to serve the poor in the plantations there. And, strangely enough, that is why, he renounced the world and embraced the Holy Order of Sannyasa.

He was a healer of the body and the soul. This truth is reflected in the Ashram which he has established in Rishikesh. The huge hospital equipped with modern instruments was set up and the entire Ashram where all are welcome to get themselves healed of their heart’s sores and thoroughly refresh themselves in the divine atmosphere of the holy place.

Sri Swamiji wanted that all systems of healing should flourish. He had equal love and admiration for all systems of healing. He wanted that the best of all the systems should be brought out and utilised in the service of Man. He has written a number of books on all aspects of Healing—from the Naturopathic and Allopathic points of view.
This one dealing with Ayurveda is a valuable addition to the healer’s armamentarium.

Both the Hatha Yoga and the Raja Yoga prescribe these techniques of Asanas for the purification of the body and the setting of it in tune with the nervous equilibrium that is necessary for engaging oneself in the higher concentration. Yoga Asanas thus form the very foundation of Yoga proper. Well illustrated the book will help the beginner to a great extent.

About the Author

No saint or sage in the history of the world has such a prolific literary output to his credit,in addition to the building up of a world-wide organization.Even dynamic political leaders have confessed often that the exigencies of administration keep them away from literary pursuits. It is only Swami Sivananda, who has been able to keep a continuous flow of spiritual literature,in spite of being busily engaged in the administration of the Divine Life Society. The secret, according to him, lies in being able to switch his mind on,at will, from one task to another, without the least difficulty and with great advantage.

Sri Swami Sivananda’s writings are characteristic in being free from the rigid technical nomenclature and the austere logic usually met with in texts dealing with super-mundane matters and in thus being acfessible even to the most non-intellectual type of aspirants.

A medico by profession,Swami Sivananda moved towards spirituality and established the Sivananda Ashram at Rishikesh in the year 1934.

His lucid teachings and writings atracted many and the Ashram became one of the most revered spirituality centres.

Many of his disciples established their Ashrams decvoting themselves to the propogation of the teachings of their master.

One such,Swami Satyananda Saraswati, established the internationally famous Bihar School of Yoga and produced many master peices on the subject like asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha and other titles, best sellers on amazon.com

PRAYER

Sri Rama! I seek no wealth. I seek no honour, nor estate, nor earthly reward. Long years of my life, I have spent in various pursuits. I have not read the Vedas nor the Sastras nor the epics of Valmiki or Vyasa. But I have kept faith in Thy Name, in Thy mercy and kind purpose. I have remained a humble instrument in Thy Hands. Grant me this then, my Lord, that for ever more my love for Thy Lotus Feet may deepen a thousandfold and that I may keep my gaze constantly on Thy Lotus Feet and spend my time in doing Thy will and when I cast off this mortal coil, I shall reach Thy abode from where there is no return.

Bhakta Siromani Sri Hanumanji! Worshipful adorations to you—the greatest and the noblest Sevak of Sri Rama, hero in war and peace, statesman, diplomat, engineer who floated the bridge of stone across the ocean to Lanka, commander and leader of the mighty hill tribes of the South who marched under your command with faith and waged the mighty righteous war, with weapons shaped from trees and stones, achieving undying glory for the Kapi Dhvaja that has since flown aloft on the horizon of India, and proclaiming Sri Rama the greatest emperor of the happiest empire, the world has ever seen. None greater than you Hanumanji, in deeds of valour and devotion to the Lord, has been born on this earth. The tale of your valour and devotion will ever inspire the youth of India to acts of service and sacrifice. Prostrations to you.

Sri Sita Mata! Revered and most loved Mother of India, thou art the embodiment of womanly grace, virtue, chastity and endurance. Women of India worship you as the Goddess Lakshmi and their hearts are filled with reverence and love for your high piety, righteous suffering, chastity, endurance and devotion to the Lord. Mother dear, guide us with kindly light on the way to the abode of my Lord!
