A paradigm of the ancient dhokra technique, the statuette is crafted through a laborious lost wax process associated with the tribal groups of northern India. For this purpose, a model is sculpted of clay and dried in the sun; and later covered with beeswax and more clay, forming a mold. The precision of a surgeon, The piece is cast, cleaned and again dried in the sun. Finally, the model is heated in the ground for five days and polished. Out of this comes out a spectacular figure with sublime finesse.
