DESCRIPTION:

The Kural by Thiruvalluvar is an ancient work of the Sangam Age. The author raises the query: 'What is it that makes the Kural immortal?', and tries to seek an answer.
The author highlights Valluvar's penetrating insight into the unshifting foundations of life and his extraordinary genius for abstraction and generalization. It is strikingly different from any book or commentary so far written on the Kural.

Editorial Reviews

Excellent book. Might be a disturbing read to some, but if you're already aware of Aghori practices this book gives you a great insight on the why & how of this way of life. Despite its lengthy details regarding tantrik practices in relation to spirits, the dead, and even sex, what one will take away the most from this book is the whole idea of how the Universe functions. The Aghori whom this book is about must have been a great soul indeed, and wise enough to have this book published after his death considering the questionable nature of spiritualists in today's society. --By SG on 13 March 2016

I had no idea about Aghora or Aghori, but i have seen some crazy naked sadhu''s in documentary of 'Kumbh Mela' a mass Hindu pilgrimage in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred river Ganga. I was wondering why they are naked, what kind of rituals they do and there was no answers even after reading top or best selling spiritual books! But as i completed this book, everything was very clear to me. --By Ganesh on 22 June 2016

This book contains aghora wisdoms and left hand tantra. It's a great read. However it may seem disturbing to some because of uncommon and extreme aghora rituals. But Vimalananda has beautifully explained the relevance of each ritual with red flags of caution for curious aspirants at appropriate places. --By varun on 25 April 2014

Description:

Shri Nisargadatta Maharaj was one of the most significant spiritual teachers of Non-Duality of his time. His powerful non-dual teachings continue to impact spiritual seekers from all over the world, decades after his passing. Maharaj spoke in his mother tongue, Marathi, and a translator would then translate his words into English. It goes without saying that the translator had to be finely tuned not only to Maharaj’s teachings but also to the subtle nuances of his language, his singular vocabulary of spiritual terms and his distinctive teaching idiom. Those who had the good fortune of being in Maharaj’s presence reiterate that the intensity of his teaching was at its peak in the last five years before he shed his body. In those years, a relatively young disciple, ShriDinkarKshirsagar, sat at Maharaj’ssatsangs with a notebook. Every time Maharaj said something which impacted him – it could be a sentence or an entire chunk of conversation – Dinkar-ji would jot it down faithfully, making note of the exact Marathi words used by Maharaj. Though he did not jot down every single word spoken by Maharaj during satsang, his meticulous unfiltered ‘excerpts’ comprised the very essence of the Living Teaching manifesting through Maharaj. They accurately reflected Maharaj’s intensity, his steadfast rootedness in the Self and his utterly natural, intention-less compassion for the spiritual seeker. These talks were first published in Marathi in a book titled Atmaprem. They were subsequently translated into English by Shri Mohan Gaitonde, Maharaj’s ‘evening’ translator, who had the privilege of being with him from 1979 to 1981. This translation is made special by one outstanding fact: years of intuitively translating Maharaj, and that too in his presence, bestowed upon Gaitonde-ji an invaluable gift – an ‘ear’ for Maharaj’s voice and tone. In other words, for his subtlest nuance. For spiritual seekers, keen on accessing Maharaj’s original teachings, this has indeed turned out to be a wonderful gift.

PREFACE Some astrologers hardly understand my book, Jaimini Sutramritam, a commentary both in Sanskrit and English. Of course it is just hearsay, may or may not be true. However one finds intricacy in Jaimini school of thought, unless one goes thoroughly through the Sanskrit commentary and Vriddha karikas as well. I have prepared this book as such that the astrologer could grasp easily and correctly the aspects, argalas, arudhas, raja yogas, ayur dasas, phalitha dasas etc. also because of charts illustrated where ever necessary. Forsure this could be a guide to every aspirant to Jaimini predictivity. For more details and Dasas the reader would well refer my Jaimini Sutramritam published by Sagar Publications. The Secret is a self-help book regarding the power of positive thinking by Rhonda Byrne. The book suggests the notion that like attracts the like, which means if you emit positive energy, it will be very beneficial because you will attract positive things to you. Byrne proposed that positive thinking magnets positive outcomes. Simply believing in what you want to acquire or become will become of you. The book portrays that the secret is mainly about the law of attraction but it also highlights gratitude and visualization. The primary technique of ask, believe and receive is explained further by stating some facts from some of the Secret’s practitioners. The book promotes encouragement for people in times of trials or deepens their urge to succeed. Happiness, wealth, success in relationships, and even health improvement are all justified as achievable by the application of the so-called secret.

    DESCRIPTION:

While cremating his mother at the famed Manikarnika Ghat, Bishwanath Ghosh pretended he was a writer collecting material for a future book rather than a grieving son—his way of dealing with the last rites. A few years later, he returns to Banaras to write that book.Plunging into its timeless aura, he roams its ghats and galis, sails through the cool breeze of the Ganga, walks through the heat of funeral pyres. One moment he is observing a sadhu show off his penile strength, in the next he is on a boat with a young woman who has been prophesied to marry seven times; one moment he is in conversation with the celebrated writer Kashinath Singh, who is an atheist, and in the next he is having tea with a globe- trotting priest and a god-fearing doctor ... Ghosh finds a story in every bend as he engages with quintessential Banarasis—their paan-stuffed mouths spouting expletives and wisdom with equal flair—and discovers why they are among the happiest people on earth. Then one evening at Manikarnika, as he emerges from a temple, wearing ash from the cremation ground on his forehead, he finds a bit of Banaras in himself.Aimless in Banaras is not only a sensuous portrait of India’s holiest city but also a meditation on life—and death.

    DESCRIPTION:

This book is the second book in the Secrets series written by the author. The first book "Secrets of Bhagawat, Mahabharat and Ramayan" focused mostly on the stories in the Bhagwat and barely touched a few stories from Ramayana. The current book is an attempt to look at the Ramayana holistically and explain all the spiritural secrets hidden in its many many stories. Written in easy to understand format - starts with a short version of each of the stories in Ramayana, followed by a spiritual explanation of the story both in Hindi n English. The Ramayana epic is like a beautiful necklace. It has various precious stones depicting the vividness of human emotions, worldly relations, responsibilities, insights in politics, architecture, astronomy, religion et al. However the thread that brings all these precious stones together as a necklace is a thread of Spirituality. Without understanding the spiritual meaning for which this epic was written, everything becomes irrelavent. This work is an attempt to bring that spirituality to the masses.

    DESCRIPTION:

Over a hundred years after the Mahabharata War, an ancient power threatens to destroy the new Age of Men, by establishing the Age of Terror of the asuras, long believed to be extinct. the only hurdle in its path is Guru Dronacharya’s son, the mighty but accursed warrior Ashwatthama, who lost all his powers following Lord Krishna’s curse and who unwittingly finds himself drawn into the quest of the lost bow of Lord Rama, the Kodanda. As ghosts of the distant past return to haunt him and the line between friends and enemies blurs, Ashwatthama must fight his inner demons to emerge victorious. He undertakes a perilous journey—across the vast plains of the Ganges, to the snow-capped peaks of the Himavant where the price of failure is a fate worse than death and death is a privilege not granted to Ashwatthama.
