In this beautiful figure, brass, reconstituted turquoise and coral are nicely used to give a colourful impact to Lord Gautam Buddha. An Apostle of Truth and non-violence, Gautam Buddha was one of the most popular figures in Hinduism and Buddhism. He was also an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Here he was given a colourful touch. His message of non-violence has wider appectance even today. The figure is a paradigm of love and non-violence.

The Brass figure of Patanjali is nicely treated with minute detail. Patanjali, the great yoga guru is also believed to be an incarnation of Adishesa, the first ego-expansion of Lord Vishnu. His primeval energies and opulence, is part of the so-called catur vyūha, the fourfold manifestation of Vishnu. Thus Patañjali may also be considered one incarnation of God defending the ego of yoga. Patanjali is the compiler of the Yoga Sutras, a major work containing articles on the philosophical aspects of mind and consciousness. He is also the author of a major commentary on Panini's Ashtadhyayi. Lakshmi Puja is celebrated on the full moon night of Kojagari Purnima. The goddess is depicted as a beautiful woman of golden complexion, with four hands, sitting or standing on a full-bloomed lotus and holding a lotus bud, which stands for beauty, purity and fertility. The four hands of the goddess represent the four ends of human life: dharma or righteousness, "kama" or desires, "artha" or wealth, and "moksha" or liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Cascades of gold coins are seen flowing from her hands, suggesting that those who worship her gain wealth. She always wears gold embroidered red clothes. Om Hreem Shreem Lakshmibhayo Namah is the most popular mantra for the goddess.

Description

The brass figure of physician of the gods, Dhanvantari. He is standing and the towering figure has four hands. Dhanvantari is an avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism and he appears in the Vedas and Puranas as the physician of the gods (devas), and the god of Ayurveda. It is common practice in Hinduism for worshipers to pray to Dhanvantari seeking his blessings for sound health for themselves and/or others, especially on Dhanteras. According to religious texts, Dhanvantari emerged from the Ocean of Milk and appeared with the pot of amrita (nectar) during the story of the Samudra (or) Sagara Mathana while the ocean was being churned by the Devas and Asuras, using the Mandara Mountain and the serpent Vasuki. The pot of Amrita was snatched by the Asuras, and after this event another avatar, Mohini, appears and takes the nectar back from the Asuras. It is also believed that Dhanvantari promulgated the practice of Ayurveda. He is often depicted with four hands with one of them carrying Amrita, the Ambrosia of god. Here Dhanvantari is depicted as Vishnu with four hands, holding Shankha, Chakra, Jalauka (leech) and a pot containing rejuvenating nectar called amrita.
