In this beautiful brass figure along with brass reconstituted turquoise (blue and indigo) and coral (red) are used to give more appeal to the statute of the Lord Ganesha, one of the most widely revered Hindu deities. His ears, tusk, headgear and prominent belly are painted well as the Lord is shown seated on a podium. In fact the Lord is so popular among the Hindus that he is known by as many as 108 names. Here the Lord is shown as Chaturbhuj (Four-armed lord). He is also the Bhupati (the lord of lords), Bhuvanpati (lord of the heaven), Buddhinath (God of wisdom) and also Buddhipriya (one who bestows of knowledge and intellect). He is also known as Lambodara one who has a big belly.
