The beautiful and graceful images of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, the most merciful incarnations of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu who appeared about 500 years ago at West Bengal, have been chiseled out of brass in a most delicate manner. The figures reveal a rare treatment of sculptural excellence and the two bodies are shown dancing in full flow with raised hands. They are the main deities of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) of Houston sometimes referred to as Hare Krishna Dham, incorporated in 1972 as a non-profit organisation. In 1972 temple services were conducted with pictures in a Montrose area home.
These two main deities of ISKON are known as Sri Sri Nitai Chandra and Sri Sri Chaitanya Chandra's deities (big Gaura Nitai Deities).
