The brass figures of Lord Vishnu (Narayan), his consort Lakshmi and His vehicle Garuda are carved out with a deep sense of finesse and glory. Garuda is shown here carrying his Lord and the goddess at ease on his arms. There are finer carvings and floral designs in the figures and the Lord and His consort Lakshmi both are wearing finer drapery and jewelries. Even Garuda is being given a royal touch. He is holding the legs of both Vishnu and Lakshmi. Lord Vishnu is the Preserver of the Universe and takes incarnations to save the human race whenever some catastrophe looms large. There are refences to ten such incarnations of Vishnu. His consort Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity. She is one of the most popular female deities among the Hindus.
