DESCRIPTION:
The fabled Neelkanth, Shiva, is faced with his greatest challenge. He is forced onto a path of vengeance where nothing is as it seems, in The Secret of The Nagas (Shiva Trilogy). The hunt is on for a mysterious naga assailant who has taken the life of one of Shiva's close associates and now preys on his wife. This thirst for revenge willbring him face to face with the truth behind the mysterious nagas. The nagas are a deformed race of warriors with exceptional fighting skills, whose motives are hidden. They play a central role in a conspiracy that has brought a once mighty kingdom to its knees. And if Shiva is to break the deadlock, he must travel deep into hostile territory,
where he will face a deadly adversary. At Kashi, Shiva's wife, Sati, who has recently given birth to their child, stays behind to help the King with an entirely different kind of battle. As Shiva's journey takes him away from her, she will uncover a secret that will change both their lives forever. Will Shiva and Sati's marriage survive, when the
line between friend and foe becomes blurred?
The book was originally submitted to Banaras Hindu University in 2012 for the award of Doctor in Philosophy. R.C. Pradhan, Professor of Philosophy from University of Hyderabad, after examining this thesis, writes "... this is an excellent study of the recent interpretations of Nagarjuna's philosophy. This study bears the stamp of deep scholarship in Buddhism, especially in the Madhyamaka philosophy of Nagarjuna. This work covers the vast literature on Nagarjuna's Philosophy and its interpretations by the scholars both Indian and Western and has critically examined all sorts of interpretations from the nihilistic to the absolutistic, logico-linguistic and deconstructionistic. Mr Joy rejects all interpretations with critical and detailed examinations of their viewpoints. His wide survey of literature and deep understanding of the problems posed by them has made him understand Nagarjuna without an intermediary. Nagarjuna's sayings quoted from original sources have put his philosophy in clearer light.... Mr Joy's arguments are convincing and based on wide scholarship. His excellent bibliography is a standing testimony to his wide reading and reflections. He has organized the chapters well with detailed footnotes. He has, on the whole, developed an original approach to the understanding of Nagarjuna's Philosophy of Sunyata...."

The beautiful velvet painting of the Lord Shiva shows the Lord in a meditative posture as He is blessing his disciples with his one hand. He is painted blue. A rare sense of gravity and accomplishment is manifest on His face. The trident and the coil of the serpent are also nicely painted. Though the Lord is associated with destruction, destruction is also a prelude to regeneration.
