Sun God Surya is being nicely carved in the brass conch. There are also some nice floral carvings. Sun is the source of all our primary energy. He is one of the five deities considered as equivalent aspects and means to realizing Brahman in the Smarta tradition. In the Brahmanas, Surya appears with Agni (fire god) in the same hymns. Surya is revered for the day, while Agni for its role during the night. Conch is an essential part for beginning any religious ceremony. The priest plays it at the beginning and also at the end of the ritual.

Here three set of sun-god-surya-wall-hanging are nicely treated. In first two sets there are four bells, in the last one seven bells are being fitted. The beautiful Madhubani painting depicts the Lord Krishna and His consort Radha along with the Sun, the source of our energy. Sun is painted at the center whereas the Lord Krishna and His consort Radha are painted on the right and left side of the Sun. The beautiful painting reflects the simple philosophy of life of the people of Mithila that the Sun and the Lord are equivalent, the omnipotence of the Lord: His male and female manifestation. Red, blue, green and mustard colours have been nicely combined together to yield a nice blending of colours. Natural and mythological motifs are common in Madhubani style of painting, centred around Mithila of Bihar.
