Prayed for his devotion and blessings, Hanuman symbolizes devotion, piousness and great energy. Crafted in an astute manner, the figure oozes a sense of dedication and tremendous energy. He has been shown trampling one demonness with his foot and holding the mountain with Mrit Sanjivani that he carried from the Himalayas to the battlefield in Ceylon. The brass idol of Lord Shiva in meditation, with a warm subtle smile on his face, is a popular representation of the lord across Hindu temples, worldwide. Lord Shiva is often vouched as the most powerful of Hindu Gods and holds the role of the destroyer in the holy trinity. Also known as Mahadeva, Bhole Nath, Natraja, Vishwanath and Pashupati, Lord Shiva has the most distinctive appearance, devoid of expensive jewellery and regal attire. On the contrary, the lord sits on tiger’s skin and wears lion cloth. A number of Rudraksh rosaries and live hooded snakes adorn his body in the name of jewelry. He keeps a trident, with a damroo tucked to it, for the sake of weapon and a musical instrument.

Mahiravana came in the guise of Vibeeshana and took Lord Ram and Lakshman to pathala loka. Hanuman followed him to pathala loka. Hanuman realized that to kill Mahiravana, Hanuman had to extinguish five lamps burning in five different directions at the same time. So Hnuman took the Panchamukha form with Hanuman, Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda and Varaha faces and extinguished the lamps and killed Mahiravana. Here Hanuman is in a meditative posture and in his 10 hands there are different sets of weapons. According to Hanumath Prakaranam in Sri Vidyarnavatantram, Anjaneya has five faces (Pancha Mukha) and ten weapons.

The figure of Matya, an incarnation of Vishnu is nicely carved out of brass. Vishnu took up Matsyavatara, or the form of the fish during a deluge that submerged the earth. Vishnu commanded a rishi to gather together samples of all species and wait in a boat. The gigantic golden fish then dragged the boat through the deluge and then enabled Bhrama to start the act of creation all over again. Yet another legend has it that a demon once stole the four Vedas and hid them under the sea. Vishnu assumed the Matsya form and retrieved them and then restored them to their original fragrance.

The idol is adorned with all the representative signs of Lord Shiva, including many “Rudraksha” rosaries on his body, the holy river Ganges tumbling out of the tuft on the top of his hair; a crescent moon shining on the tuft; a hooded serpent coiled around the neck, and a trident, with a small leather drum (or damroo) bound around it, standing upright at his left hand side.
