Natyasastram( Ascribed To Bharata Muni )(2 Vols. Set)
The Harappan dancing girl sculpture shows, how old is the tradition of Natya viz. dance, drama and music in India. Samaveda is dedicated primarily to music; this again shows the importance of performing arts in ancient India. With such a rich legacy of dance, drama and music, India has given various great scriptures of this tradition to the world. The Natya sastra is such a scripture only. This scripture had been accepted as fifth Veda, as the same is gist of Vedas. According to scripture itself, "The recitative (pathya) he took from the Rgveda, the song from the Samaveda, the Histrionic Representation (abhinaya) from the Yajurveda and Sentiments (rasa) from the Atharvaveda and thus was created the Natyaveda.

With thirty-six chapters and over six thousand verses, this is encyclopaedia of Natya Vidya (Vidya of dance, drama and music). This comprises of every single aspect of Natya viz. it talks about the issues related literary constructions, set up of stage, details related to musical scales and murcchas, analysis of dance forms which considers several body gestures or mudras and movements along with their impact on viewers, it also educates the viewers about the etiquettes to be followed while watching a performance and it deals with Rasas.

Bharata muni describes 15 types of drama ranging from one to ten acts. Individual chapters deal with aspects such as makeup, costume, acting and directing etc.

With detailed theory of drama, Natyasastra is comparable to the Poetics of Aristotle. Bharata Muni refers to bhavas, the imitations of emotions, as per him eight principal rasas are srngara rasa (love), karunya rasa (pity), Raudra rasa (fury), Vibhatsa rasa (disgust), Vira rasa (heroism), Adbhuta rasa (wond

Tales of the Nine Planets. Navagraha Purana chronicles in fascinating detail the birth, life and glory of the Nine Planets, the powerful astral deities who are the ultimate arbiters of man’s destiny. This compelling narrative paints a delightfully intimate portrait of the Navagrahas. Surya subdues his raging heat to please his beloved Samjna. Chandra lusts after his guru’s wife and is cursed to wane each month. Kuja emerges from a drop of perspiration on Shiva’s brow. Budha marries Ila, who is his wife for one month and a prince in the next. Brhaspati forgives his wife’s adultery and curses an amorous apsara to be born as a monkey. Usana becomes Sukra when he is swallowed by a furious Shiva. Sanaischara requests the Trimurti to ensure he inspire fear in all living beings. Rahu and Ketu wreak their vengeance on Surya and Chandra by swallowing them. In an irresistible medley of drama, romance, humour and devotion, Navagraha Purana entertains and informs as it asserts that no one is exempt from the implacable influence of the Nine Planets.

It provides an experiential compass through first-hand accounts and insights from some of India’s most respected names in business, public governance, diplomacy and intelligentsia. It lucidly explains the frequent and vital intersections between the government and business, culture and modernity, demographics and democracy—all of which are vital to understanding India. The book postulates the heights India might reach by harnessing technology and with a collaborative political, regulatory and business response to the rapidly evolving needs and aspirations of young, impatient Indians. Bharat Joshi offers a candid, accessible and objective guide to a complex, albeit compelling, economy.

It was described by the UPA government as the biggest threat to the internal security of the country. The movement has since suffered setbacks but nevertheless retains the capacity to launch lethal strikes and continues to pose a formidable challenge to India’s democratic structure. The Naxalite Movement in India, now in a revised and updated edition, traces the Naxalite movement from its inception to its metamorphosis into a predominantly Maoist movement in a historical sweep.

उनका संपर्क है gautam_rajrish@yahoo.co.in; mobile no. 9759479500

Negotiation is the middle ground between capitulation and stonewalling, a back-and-forth between two parties trying to reach agreement. If a price or other term is non-negotiable, there is no give and take, just “take it or leave it.” You may think you are negotiating, but if the other side isn’t playing, you aren’t either.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            1. They give ground too easily
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            2. They get nothing in return

This book provides proven methods for holding your ground against (seemingly) more powerful negotiators. But it also goes further, making sure that when you do give ground, you get equal or better value in return.

Using a cooperative, collaborative approach in a hardball negotiation just doesn’t work. Tough negotiators will play win-win, but only if they have nothing to lose.

Negotiating with Tough Customers will make you a better salesperson by making you a better negotiator... and vice versa.

Or could it be that a criminal conspiracy is to blame for the psychic phenomena, as well as a second murder cunningly concealed in the past? In the New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the indefatigable detective and his assistant Dr. Watson, will track down the perpetrators through the occult underworld of Victorian London. Next, on the eve of World War I, he is confronted with fraud and forgery at the Royal Navy Academy in the Case of a Boy's Honor. Back in London, behind the scenes of the Herculaneum Theatre in the Strand the Case of the Matinee Idol embroils Holmes and Watson directly in an apparent on-stage murder. How did poison get into two Shakespearean goblets when only the victim, now dead, had access to them and the most likely suspect was a mile away with an unbreakable alibi?

The purpose of this book is to offer some support to both the teacher and the student. Exercises and compositions should not be forced indiscriminately on students, but the teacher must use his discretion in prescribing appropriate material for individual students. He must also offer his advise and guidance to students on how to select compositions to suit their needs and abilities.

There are compositions appropriate for stringed instruments (bowed and plucked) and for wind instruments. Thus, the compositions for sitar and sarod are basically in Mazith Khani and Raza Khani styles, while different Gat styles are employed for violin, esraj and flute.

With our guide, Malcolm Tillis, we wander the length and breadth of India in search of other Westerners who, like him, have forsaken their old lives in the West for totally new, dramatically more meaningful ones in the East. By seeing Indian spirituality through the eyes of outsiders who were not born into the ancient culture, but found tremendous personal meaning therein, we discover it new and fresh with each individual Malcolm interviews. Each of these individuals has discovered an enormous spiritual wealth in India that makes the material prosperity and technological “advancements” of the West seem obscenely desolate and primitive in comparison. Contemporary Indian readers should find this particularly relevant, as India becomes more “modern” and on par with the West, and as they find themselves increasingly in a similar position with regard to rediscovering their own heritage.
